Regional Political Institutions (SADC & AU)
To enable members to understand the role, mandate, and political limits of regional institutions, particularly SADC and the African Union, and to develop realistic, strategic expectations of what these bodies can and cannot do in advancing democratic struggles. This module dismantles naïve reliance on institutions while teaching cadres how to engage them intelligently.
Module 2
Regional Solidarity Movements
To equip members with the capacity to identify, build, and sustain regional solidarity alliances that strengthen the Swaziland liberation struggle, while avoiding symbolic, opportunistic, or dependency-driven relationships. This module clarifies that solidarity is political work, not charity or publicity.
Module 3
African Liberation Struggles – Lessons & Warnings
To equip members with a critical understanding of African liberation struggles, drawing lessons from both successes and failures, particularly in the transition from liberation movements to governing parties. This module inoculates cadres against romanticism, complacency, and post-liberation betrayal.
Module 4
Regional Power Dynamics Affecting Swaziland
To equip members with a clear-eyed understanding of regional power dynamics that shape Swaziland's political environment, particularly the interests of neighbouring states, regional elites, and security arrangements, and how these dynamics constrain or enable the liberation struggle. This module replaces wishful thinking with strategic realism.
Module 5
Strategic Regional Engagement
To equip members with the skills and political judgment required for disciplined, principled, and effective regional engagement, ensuring that interaction with regional actors strengthens rather than dilutes the liberation struggle. This module answers the question: "How do we engage without compromising?"
